Feeling the burn......

Last night we were scheduled for a 20 minute run. Though we were hoping to run 30 minutes as we know we can so easily, I just about made it 25. I could feel the backs of my calves tightening up which I had not really felt before, and Phil also agreed he felt quite the same way. Though the difference being, Phil had much more energy than myself & I am sorry to say, I felt the strain a little on my lungs. It was quite humid so I thought it may have been that but when I awoke this morning with a snotty nose again I figured my cold is just desperate to return!
Im getting a little worried about it now actually as a recurring cold is going to do my training no good.

Anyway, it has made me think that I do need to rethink my diet. With all the training I have been doing I have become too used to being able to eat too much junk food without putting on any weight. Big mistake as now it seems my immune system is suffering & post marathon I will probably turn into a big porker :o(
So this weekend I am going to read up on nutrition as much as I can so I know the right foods to eat with out starving myself of the nutrients I need to train for a marathon.
There is a lot more into training for a marathon than I initially anticipated.

As for running, Phil & I are going to try & get up early tomorrow morning for early registration of the 10 mile run in Phoenix Park. It will be a great chance to prove that last week's 10 mile run was not a fluke & also a chance to pick up a goody bag at the finish line.
Wish us luck!
